Scenic Mohare Danda / Ridge Trek is a rewarding short Himalayan adventure that combines breathtaking mountain panoramas, authentic village life, and peaceful forest trails away from Nepal’s crowded trekking routes. This moderate trek reaches the beautiful ridge of Mohare Danda (3,300 m / 10,827 ft), offering unforgettable sunrise and sunset views over Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu, and Machhapuchare (Fishtail) Himalayas.

The journey begins from the lake city of Pokhara and follows scenic trails through traditional Magar villages, terraced farmlands, and enchanting rhododendron and pine forests. Unlike the mainstream trekking regions, Mohare Danda provides a quieter and more exclusive experience, allowing travelers to connect closely with local culture and nature.

Throughout the trek, guests stay in welcoming community-run lodges and homestays, enjoying warm hospitality and a glimpse into the daily life of the Himalayan mid-hills. The route is suitable for trekkers of all ages with a reasonable fitness level and is ideal for those seeking a shorter yet highly scenic Himalayan experience.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to a hotel

On arrival at Kathmandu and Nepal International Airport, after visa formalities, and claiming the baggage. Outside the exit terminal our staff and guide receives you for a short transfer to the hotel. After getting refreshed at the hotel, then join with other members of Mohare Danda/Ridge Trek for a briefing. Briefing is done by our guide, group leader with full information of the treks, including hotels in Kathmandu. Local cultures with do’s and don’ts. In the evening a lovely dinner and introduction to Nepali foods and culture.

Day 2: Tour of Kathmandu heritage sites of great interest

Morning after breakfast, our city guide takes you on a tour around the world heritage sites within Kathmandu city. After an exciting and interesting tour back to the hotel, preparation and packing for trekking. Non-essential clothing and items not required for treks, can be stored in the Hotel or with Kirat Society Adventure.

Day 3: Fly to Pokhara 860 m (30 mins by air) and transfer to a hotel by the

Phewa Lakeside. Morning after breakfast, as time for flight to Pokhara, transfer to Kathmandu Domestic Airport Terminal. Get on board in a moderate size aircraft. A sweeping flight of 30 minutes, overlooking an astounding panorama of Himalayan peaks. On landing at Pokhara Airport, a short drive to your hotels. Located by the Phewa Lake Side. A lovely place to enjoy overnights at Pokhara. A city blessed with natural beauty of mountains and lakes, Afternoon at leisure for a stroll around the Lake side. The streets are lined with the best restaurants, shops and stores.

Day 4: Drive to Galeshwor village 1, 170 m and start trek to

Bhaisi-Kharka 1, 526 m -06 hours with drives and walks. Enjoy the glorious views of Annapurna Himalayas, after a good breakfast, an exciting drive leads west of Pokhara city. From the valley outskirts through nice towns and farm villages, the views of Annapurna peaks follow along the drives. An interesting journey on Pokhara-Baglung, Beni highway, after a few hours of good drive reaching Beni. The headquarters Town of Mygdi district, from here a short distance drive to Galeshwor. A large village on the shelf of the Kali Gandaki River. Possible lunch stops at Galeshwor; afternoon walks follow uphill. The trail leads through small hill villages and hamlets, within well-tended farm terraces. After a few hours of steady climb reaching Bhaise-Kharka for an overnight. A small farming settlement, with simple and basic lodge accommodations. The huts, and cottages here are of basic standard with nice and cozy rooms, serves as a Home Stays. The Home Stay Huts are managed by the local Magar village community. The main ethnic tribes of western Nepal Himalayas are enriched with age-old traditional cultures.

Day 5: Trek to Nangi 2, 320 m - 06 hrs

Morning from Bhaisi Kharka, having a simple breakfast adventure starts for a long day walks to Nangi. Leaving this nice farm village, a slow climb through a dense forested trail. The climb continues with short refreshing breaks; the walk follows higher towards cooler hills. After a great day trek then reaching Nangi for an overnight halt. A small lovely place with simple stone built huts and corrugated roof top, another Home-Stay lodge to enjoy. After checking in a nice room with time to visit the village organic vegetable garden. The organic garden with field of crops maintained for an educational purpose. As well to boost the local economy for the Magar tribe community.

Day 6: Trek to Mohare Danda / Hill at 3,300 m -05 hrs

Today’s walk leads to our main goal and highlights of the adventure to Mohare Danda, from Nangi. Enjoying a pleasant night with the traditional hospitality of the villagers, morning starts with a climb through dense forest. The trail is covered with rhododendrons and pine trees with occasional views of snow peaks, the climb continues for some hours. Then finally reaching Mohare Danda with views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri’s and Annapurna Himal. As far as Manaslu Himalaya range with ever present Machhapuchare Himal the Fish Tail Peak. Mohare Danda is a high hill, a ridge with a wide green meadow, a grazing pasture, for cattle. Mohare Danda provides a few small huts with homestay for overnight. Afternoon explore the virgin areas of Mohare Danda, where few groups of trekkers seldom visit around these isolated scenic hills.

Day 7: Trek to Khibang 2,060 m-06 hrs

Rising early morning for stunning sunrise views as the sunlight reflects the tips of the highest peaks. Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and then Annapurna group of peaks, a glorious and exciting scenery to capture in your cameras. After a wonderful refreshing morning view, enjoy the breakfast on the highest point of the adventure. Bid farewell to the happy and ever cheerful villagers. The walk follows downhill to Khibang, with a few short uphill’ , but more or less downhill. After a long stretch of descent reaching Khibang for an overnight stay in the comfort of a home-stay hut or cottage. The home-stay program is managed by the local Eco-Community, enjoying the afternoon facing dramatic views of the Snow Mountains.

Day 8: Trek to Tilkot 2, 210 m - 04 hrs

Enjoying wonderful moments on the high and remote hill villages, the walk follows down to Tilkot. A short day morning walks for lunch and overnight stop at Tilkot, a nice small village. Enjoy the comfort of a nice lodge managed by the Magar Eco-Community. The rest of the day, explore around and relax enjoying the magnificent scenery.

Day 9: Trek to Tiplyang 1,030 m-3 hours and drive to Pokhara- 03 hrs

Our last day walk of the adventure, enjoy the trek from Tilkot, on downhill’s towards lower warm farm areas. After hours of pleasant walk reaches Tiplyang, located by the Kaligandaki River. A moderate size farm village, which is en route to Mustang and Pokhara via Beni town. At Tiplyang enjoy refreshing lunch stop, and then drive for few hours to Pokhara. On reaching Pokhara transfer to a nice hotel by the Phewa Lake side. Enjoy the afternoon exploring the lakeside facing grand views of Annapurna and Manaslu Himal range. Pokhara offers wide range of Adventure Sports activities, like Para Gliding, Bungee Jumping, Zip Line and Ultra-Light flights.

Day 10: Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to a hotel

As time for a short scenic flight to Kathmandu from Pokhara, transfer to Pokhara domestic airport. Then get on board in a moderate size aircraft for sweeping panoramic flight back to Kathmandu. On arrival transfer to your hotels, rest of the day at leisure.

Day 11: In Kathmandu free day, for individual activities with options for tours

A free day in Kathmandu to enjoy relaxing moments and for individual activities and shopping spree. Interested people can opt for another exciting tour of Patan and Bhaktapur cities, it is worth a visit.

Day 12: International departure for homeward bound

Last day in Kathmandu and Nepal, after an overwhelming adventure and experience around Mohare Danda and Annapurna Himalayas. As time for your international flight, our staff and guide transfers you to the airport. Bidding farewell to Nepal, guide and staff; as you enter the air terminal for homeward bound or to the next port of call.
