Scenic Green Hills Trek to Pikey Peak Trek takes you around the scenic and traditional country villages. Located Nepal Mid-East hills within the district of
Solu-Khumbu around southern Everest region. At one-time Pikey Peak Viewpoint Hill was unknown and unaware to many wide world trekkers.
Slowly Pikey Peak trek is gaining popularity among trekkers.
Especially for those people who are interested in venturing around the isolated corners of the Himalayas.
Scenic Green Hills Trek Pikey Peak, leads to excitement, in the harmony of serene green forest. Trekking through lovely farm villages festooned with age-old traditional heritage customs of both Hindu and Buddhist cultures.
The trek follows several farm villages of Dhap, and Jhapre after an interesting overland journey from Kathmandu. One of the best experiences is to observe Nepal’s country farm life and activities. The drive leads to Dhap village, where the trek begins to Pikey Peak in the shade of the Himalayan Mountains.
The route follows to higher and cooler areas reaching at the base of scenic Pikey Peak Viewpoint Hill. Then the adventure follows with a climb on a winding path through a lovely forested trail, lined with rhododendrons, pines and fir trees.
Slowly the uphill ends reaching on top Pikey Peak Viewpoint Hill, the highest spot of the adventure. From the high Pikey Peak enjoy the 360° panorama of the Mid-Eastern Himalayan ranges.
A grand viewpoint facing alluring views of the world’s highest peaks with Everest, Cho-Oyu and Makalu. Includes Mt. Kanchenjunga in the far east with Ganesh and Langtang towards north west.
After a glorious moment enjoying the stunning sunrise over the chain of snow-capped mountains. The return journey leads to an alternative route heading towards high Lamjura-La Pass to a nice village of Junbesi.
Enjoying the stunning panorama of the giant snow peaks, the last phase of the adventure. Allows you to witness the native Sherpa’s immense colorful culture of Buddhism, with a pleasant hike to Thupten Choeling Monastery.
Located above Junbesi and far from the main trails of Jiri and Everest Base Camp
routes. A peaceful isolated and quaint monastery, and a learning place for Buddhist nuns in the harmony of pristine surroundings.
Our adventure slowly comes to an end after a last and final trek from Junbesi to Phaplu Village. Enjoy the last overnight around the mid-hills of eastern Himalayas before heading back to Kathmandu. After a most exciting experience and adventure on “Scenic Green Hills Trek Pikey Peak.”

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to a hotel
On arrival at Kathmandu and Nepal International Airport, after visa formalities, and claiming the baggage. Outside the exit terminal our staff and guide receives you for a short transfer to the hotel. After getting refreshed at the hotel, then join with other members of Scenic Green Hills Trek to Pikey Peak for a briefing.
Briefing is done by our guide, group leader with full information of the treks, including hotels in Kathmandu. Local cultures with do’s and don’ts. In the evening a lovely dinner and introduction to Nepali foods and culture.
Day 2: Tour of Kathmandu heritage sites of great interest
Morning after breakfast, our city guide takes you on a tour around the world heritage sites within Kathmandu city. After an exciting and interesting tour back to the hotel, preparation and packing for trekking.
Non-essential clothing and items not required for treks, can be stored in the Hotel or with Kirat Society Adventure.
Day 3: Drive to Dhap 2,850 m.|9,348 feet. 7 - 8 hours journey
An early morning breakfast for a long day overland journey towards Dhap Village around Solu areas. An exciting drive on a 4WD Jeep, the road follows east from Kathmandu. On leaving the main BP Highway, the drive leads on winding country roads. Enjoying the greenery scenarios with few refreshing stops to reach Dhap. The road leads along the Sunkoshi River, later joins the Tama Koshi River, forming a large Koshi River before reaching Ghurmi.
An interesting drive to witness the typical Nepali farm life, the journey continues through dense pines and rhododendron forests. Driving past towns and villages and then the drive ends on reaching Dhap Bazaar for an overnight. Time permitting explore the local bazaar and observe the local culture.
Day 4: Trek from Dhap to Jhapre 2,820 m.|9249 feet. 6 hours
First day walks follow the trekking trail along the Phokte Danda. Passing through Sigane village, facing panoramic views of Everest, Numbur, and many others peaks. The route leads past Phokte Danda to reach Jhapre. Starting after breakfast, the walks continues along a dusty road leading to Sigane Village. As the trek progresses heads forward towards the bumpy roads to Jhapre. A scenic spot village and famous for vantage points to view the mountains in the country’s northern region. From here, grand crystal clear views of Mt. Everest (8,848m), Numbur Himal (6,958 m), and others. Have time to visit some of the highly religious Gompa and stupas in the village and for an overnight stop at a lodge in Jhapre.
Day 5: Trek to Pikey Base Camp 3,640 m.|11,939 feet. 6 hours
From Jhapre slowly the trail climbs uphill via Lhamuje Danda to Bulbule and Lhamuje after Jhapre. The path separates just after Lhamuje, and following the path towards Pikey Peak Viewpoint Hill. The walk leads across a mani prayer stone wall and cheese factory before reaching Pikey Peak Base Camp. After Jhapre, the route follows ups to a grassy ridge at Bulbule, offers a nice views of the Everest range. Soon after Bulbule, the trail splits, and on the right turn is Pikey Peak.
On this route the walk leads past some old yak houses and a long mani stone walls. The trail contours the hillside below Taklung Danda and through a beautiful forest of rhododendrons and pine trees. From here along a level path for a few hours to reach Pikey Peak base camp for an overnight stop.
Day 6: Trek and climb to Pikey Peak Viewpoint 4,065 m/13,333 feet
Continue trek to Lamjura Danda near its pass. at 3,736 m/12,254 feet and transfer to a lodge-6 hours. Rising early with breakfast, start the trek to the famous viewpoint of Pikey Peak. As well for stunning sunrise over the mountain range of Number Chuli (6,959 m), Thamserku (6,608 m), Kangtiga (6,685 m). Includes views of Mt. Kanchenjunga (8,586 m), in the east with Manaslu (8,163 m), Dhaulagiri (8,167 m) towards west. Grand views of central Himalayan range with Mt. Gaurishankar (7,134 m), Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m), Langtang, with Mt. Everest. After enjoying the extensive panorama from Pikey Peak. From here our route leads on an alternative trail which descends to Jase Bhanjyang and towards Lamjura Danda. Where the Jiri and Junbesi road joins en route to Namche Bazaar and Everest base camp. Overnight in a simple and cozy lodge at Lamjura, near the pass that leads to our next destination at Junbesi.
Day 7: Trek downhill to Junbesi Village 2,700 m/ 8,856 ft. via Lamjura-La
Pass-05 hrs. Transfer to a nice homely lodge. After breakfast, downhill through a dense forest of pines, oaks, firs and rhododendrons trees. The walk continues to descend towards Taktor, a small settlement. From here on a winding wider path and downhill to a lovely village of Junbesi for an overnight. The lodge, the tea-house are well established, and you'll probably encounter a few other trekkers.
Day 8: At Junbesi Village for hike and visit to Thupten Choeling Monastery
at 3,031 m/9,941 feet. Approx. 5-6 hrs. hike both ways. Enjoy a day at Junbesi Village with a few hours hike up to Thupten Choeling Gompa. A Buddhist Nunnery, established in the 19th century. The route leads to the Gompa by ascending the Junbesi Khola. The Gompa presents in-depth details about the region's culture and Buddhist religions history. After an interesting tour of the monastery back to Junbesi for an overnight.
Day 9: Trek to Phaplu 2,413 m./7,914 feet. 5 hours of walking
Today, the route follows the Junbesi Khola's descending sandy track towards a steel suspension bridge. After crossing the bridge reaches at Beni Ghat, just before Phaplu. The walk leads with scenic views and then the walk finally ends at Phaplu. A nice Sherpa Village for the last overnight around the southern region of Everest and Solu areas.
Day 10: Exciting long drive to Kathmandu-08 hours
An early start after breakfast at Phaplu and begin the overland journey to Kathmandu in a 4WD Jeep. The road heads west to join the main BP Highway, and then a pleasant drive brings you to Kathmandu. Arriving by late evening on time for dinner and good rest, after an exciting drive of 8 hours’.
Note: There is an airport at Phaplu, but regular flights are not in operation. The company can arrange a Charter Flight from Phaplu to Kathmandu upon request, depending upon the group size.
Day 11: Free day in Kathmandu for individual activities
A free day in Kathmandu to enjoy relaxing moments and for individual activities and shopping spree. Interested people can opt for another exciting tour of Patan and Bhaktapur cities, it is worth a visit.
Day 12: International departure for homeward bound
Final day in Kathmandu and Nepal, as time for your international flight for homeward bound or next port of call. Transfer to Kathmandu, Nepal international airport bidding farewell to your guide and staff. After a marvelous adventure and experience around Scenic Green Hills Trek to Pikey Peak.
